Broker’s golf event chips in $22,000

The 12th annual McLardy McShane golf day, held last month in the Victorian beach town of Portsea, raised $22,000 for youth charity the Reach Foundation and Cure for Motor Neurone Disease.

About 100 golfers from the insurance industry were given challenges around the course, including a hole-in-one prize worth $10,000.

The day concluded at the nearby Hotel Sorrento, with a dinner donated by CGU.

Speakers included football journalist Mike Sheahan, Reach Foundation CEO and former footballer Chris Naish and former cricket star Rodney Hogg.

McLardy McShane’s next charity event is the Reach Christmas lunch, on December 7.
