Beazley unveils cover for expat workers

Specialist insurer Beazley has released a product for Australian companies with employees that live and work overseas.

The expatriate medical and emergency evacuation product combines health and travel coverage for expats and staff who are overseas on short-term assignments.

Cover includes medical expenses incurred outside Australia, 24/7 emergency assistance, personal accident and sickness, personal liability, evacuation in case of natural disaster or political unrest, coverage of personal items during transit and personal wellbeing for accidental HIV infection and rehabilitation.

Beazley underwriter Andrew May says global travel and job mobility is increasingly important for companies seeking to attract and retain the best staff.

“Employers understand they need to provide a consistently high standard of care, whether the employee is in Australia or overseas for work,” Mr May said.

“This product is designed to provide consistent benefits for employees and minimise cost surprises for employers.”
