XL appoints new head of professional lines
XL Group has appointed Rachel Thomson as Head of Professional Lines Australia.
The company says there are a growing number of architects and engineers working on large and complex infrastructure projects in Australia, and Ms Thomson’s appointment will help it to meet their professional indemnity needs.
Ms Thomson worked for XL in Bermuda and prior to that for Chubb in Melbourne and Bermuda.
She will be supported by XL Regional Professional Lines Manager David Paine and Marni MacMillan, who this month joined XL’s Melbourne office as Professional Lines Senior Underwriter. She was formerly with QBE.
Country Manager Craig Langham says XL is expanding rapidly in the local insurance market. Last year it launched a property and casualty offering for the middle market and opened an office in Melbourne to service brokers.
