Steadfast takes 2013 convention to Sydney

Broker group Steadfast will hold its annual convention in Sydney from April 6 to 9 next year.

This year’s convention on the Gold Coast, which ended last Tuesday, attracted a total of 1750 full registrations, with an additional 575 registrations sold for day passes and events.

Steadfast Executive Chairman Robert Kelly says registrations at next year’s convention will probably challenge the record figure of more than 2500 set at the group’s Melbourne convention last year.

Fund-raising activities at this year’s final night dinner resulted in a $150,000 donation to the Motor Neurone Disease Association of Queensland.

“That will make a huge difference to them.” Mr Kelly told insuranceNEWS.com.au. “They’re a small group with some terrific objectives.”

The Tuesday night fund-raiser brings the total raised for various charities at the convention since 2003 to $620,000.

“We’ve also donated another $880,000 to a variety of charities over the past six years,” he said.

The Steadfast Foundation is now a registered charity and is able to accept donations from the public.
