Steadfast sets sights on Brisbane after SA success

Next year’s Steadfast Convention will be held at the Brisbane Convention & Exhibition Centre from April 16-19.

More than 2000 people attended this year’s conference in Adelaide last week, and there was a record number of exhibitors.

Event chairman Greg Stewart, who is also MD of Holdfast Insurance Brokers in Adelaide, says fewer people attended the one-day sessions than when the conference is held in Melbourne or Sydney, but SA brokers’ staff welcomed the chance to meet exhibitors and gain professional education.

He also received positive feedback on the decision to make Sunday night an informal networking meeting.

Delegates raised a convention record $220,000 for HeartKids SA, which supports families of children with heart disease.

It is a charity close to Mr Stewart, after his granddaughter Charlotte needed open-heart surgery at the age of four months. She is now a healthy three-year-old.

“We decided to get behind it because it is not a well-known charity and all the heart kids in SA and NT have to go to Victoria for help,” he told insuranceNEWS.com.au.

“This was the highest amount of funds raised and proved what Steadfast as a group can achieve when it gets behind something.”
