Rothbury upgrades app technology

New Zealand insurance broker Rothbury has updated its mobile phone app, making it easier for clients to access detailed policy information and manage multiple claims.

My Rothbury 2.0 enables commercial, farm and domestic clients to view their policies, sums insured, excesses, broker details, account balances and claims information.

MD Roger Abel says the enhancements are driven by client feedback and an acknowledgement that mobile phones are fast becoming the most common interface for internet usage.

Last year Silicon Valley analyst Mary Meeker reported mobile phones account for 51% of internet usage in the US, compared with 42% for desktop devices.

The Rothbury app also makes it easier for clients to obtain official documents.

“Clients often need to provide certificates to prove their public liability cover when they take on new work or contracts,” Mr Abel said.

“With My Rothbury 2.0 clients can now request certificates quickly and simply through My Rothbury, instead of having to call or email their broker.”

Mr Abel says 3000 clients now have the My Rothbury app, which is available on iOS and Android smartphones. See how it works here.
