Phuket conference pleases AICLA

The Australasian Institute of Chartered Loss Adjusters (AICLA) has hailed its annual Asian Claims Convention in Thailand last week as “the best yet”.

CEO Tony Libke says the three-day convention held on the island of Phuket attracted more than 100 delegates to discuss the issues facing loss adjusters in a fast-changing industry.

“The delegates came from across the region,” he told insuranceNEWS.com.au. “We were particularly pleased to welcome a delegation from Myanmar.”

Mr Libke says the convention focused on the impacts of technology, and with presentations ranging from driverless cars to the role of technology in claims following the massive explosion in the Chinese port of Tianjin.

He says the conference is gaining in importance each year, reflecting AICLA’s growing membership in Asia.
