Marine forum chooses new President

The Melbourne Marine Insurance Forum elected Daniel Coloe as its new President at its AGM last week.

Mr Coloe, an associate at law firm Moray & Agnew, has been acting president since the start of this year, when Crawford & Company marine surveyor Gahan Nathanielsz stood down after four years in the role.

Jeremy Fielding from McLarens is the new Vice-President, replacing Mr Coloe, while QBE’s Adam Billing has switched from treasurer to Secretary, replacing Simon Farmer, also from QBE.

New committee member Carolyn Wait, a senior associate at Colin Biggers & Paisley, was elected Treasurer.

Heather Kennedy from Marsh and Andrew Tulloch (Colin Biggers & Paisley) are returning general committee members, and John Scott (Chubb) and Steven Croney (HDI Global) are new committee members.

Mr Coloe told insuranceNEWS.com.au the committee is thrilled at how the forum has grown since it formed in 2010 to replace the Marine Discussion Group and the Marine Claims Forum.

“Our membership has grown to exceed 200 members for the first time and we hope this number continues to grow with the continued services we provide to the sector,” he said.
