The third annual Territory Insurance Conference ended last week with the inaugural Territory Insurance Awards.

The winners were:

• Dale Demarco from Lumley Insurance (sales and underwriting professional of the year)
• Amanda Derrick from Allianz (young insurance professional)
• Angela Pilcher from Vocational Management Services (service provider professional)
• Sarah Kempton from OAMPS (broker professional)
• Wayne McDonald from Claim Central (property claims professional)
• Candice Lucas from Allianz (casualty claims professional).

About 250 NT insurance professionals attended the two-day conference at Darwin Convention Centre.

Territory Insurance Office CEO Richard Harding says the industry plays a critical role in the NT economy.

“The territory has a robust and competitive insurance industry, but it is ever-changing and to build resilience and competitiveness we need to look for new ways to do things,” he said.

“With a growing focus on developing northern Australia, we must promote innovation in the insurance industry so we can adapt to and make the most of our changing economic landscape.”
