Claims convention breaks attendance record

A record number of more than 350 delegates attended this year’s Claims Convention in Sydney, according to organisers.

The annual event is run by the Australasian Institute of Chartered Loss Adjusters (AICLA) and the Australian and New Zealand Institute of Insurance and Finance.

AICLA CEO Tony Libke told insuranceNEWS.com.au the delegates experienced a “vibrant conference with a different emphasis from previous years”.

“There was more of a focus on the future, and what that future might look like for loss adjusters,” he said.

“What came through from a number of presenters and CEOs was the need for loss adjusters to have a high level of specific skills, to be highly trained and add something to the claims process.

“We can be positive about the future, but we also need to be flexible and adjust to the changing environment and the needs of insurers.”
