Brokerage supports client with ‘breast ever brunch’

A breast cancer diagnosis for a client of Rockhampton’s Piranha Insurance Brokers resulted in a fundraising brunch involving the company’s staff, clients, families and friends.

The “Breast Ever Brunch” raised $470 for the Mater Chicks in Pink Foundation, which supports patients at Mater Private Breast Cancer Centre, the Mater Brisbane breast unit, Mater Private Hospital Redland and cancer researchers.

“We all know someone who has been affected either directly or indirectly with breast cancer,” Piranha Principal Peter Peirano told insuranceNEWS.com.au. “The Piranha team was shocked when one of our close friends who is also a loyal and long-term client was recently diagnosed.

“This prompted us into action, with all the team contributing the food and drinks.”

The Chicks in Pink program provides breast cancer patients with care packs, parking vouchers, home-cleaning services, counselling programs, mastectomy bras, therapies and other services.
