Aon Australia does its bit for corporate citizenship

Aon has released a report detailing its “social benefit” philosophy, charitable contributions and volunteer activities worldwide.

CEO Greg Case says the global citizenship report embodies the company’s character and values.

“The core of any corporation’s citizenship is how its business contributes to society and to the communities where its employees live and work,” he said.

The report features an update on Aon’s annual global service day and a rundown of the various volunteer activities employees participate in, from restoring an orphanage in Botswana to holding job skills workshops for youths in Brazil.

It also includes a case study on three Aon Australia colleagues who participated in last year’s Big Red Run, a 250km race through the Simpson Desert in Queensland.

The Team Aon Desert Runners raised $25,000 for studies of Type 1 diabetes.

Aon Australia volunteers work with four primary partners: Leukemia Foundation, Create Foundation, The Smith Family and Conservation Volunteers.
