Allianz has recruited long-serving IAG executive Jo Mason to a senior broker and agency role.

Ms Mason has clocked up 30 years with IAG New Zealand, most recently as GM corporate and facilities, but she is returning to Allianz following a 10-month spell there as state manager for SA in 2006/07.

Her appointment as National Manager, Cluster Groups and Specialty Lines in Allianz’s broker and agency division begins on May 18.

GM Commercial Denis Morrissey says Ms Mason is “uniquely positioned” to take on the role.

“Jo will be responsible for the strategic growth of our cluster group partners, as well as the day-to-day operation of our specialty lines, which includes our construction and engineering, financial lines, higher-risk solutions and motor trades business,” he said.

Ms Mason, a member of the Australian and New Zealand Institute of Insurance and Finance’s Women’s Council, will be based in Sydney. She will initially work half her time from Auckland, before relocating permanently from December 1.
