Comcare has appointed two new executives to its leadership team.

Former Employers Mutual CEO Tony Middlebrook becomes GM Insurance, joining from NSW-based community care group KOPWA.

Gary Jeffery will move to GM Claims Management next month, having previously been WorkCover NSW’s Director of Claims.

He has also worked for the Territory Insurance Office and Suncorp.

Comcare CEO Jennifer Taylor says the pair will form the leadership team with EGM Bruce Watson.

The Government last month announced plans to reform Comcare, which provides workers’ compensation services to the federal and ACT governments and 160,000 private sector employees of 33 major corporations that self-insure.

It wants earlier intervention, higher payments for the seriously injured and lower payments for people with minor injuries.
