ICA declares Hobart storms a catastrophe

The Insurance Council of Australia has declared a catastrophe in Hobart following heavy storms on Friday.

More than 2150 claims have already been lodged.

The damage bill stands at $19.2 million and is growing, the Insurance Council told insuranceNEWS.com.au

It has activated its disaster hotline for policyholders and established an industry taskforce.
