A NOTE FROM THE PUBLISHER

This is the final scheduled insuranceNEWS.com.au bulletin for 2015. We will return on February 1, but while we’re in recess any significant industry news will be covered by our Breaking News service.

insuranceNEWS.com.au continues to be the most popular news and information source for the industry in Australia and New Zealand. We have well over 22,000 subscribers from the local market and around the world, but that’s not the limit of our readership. This year more than 265,000 individuals have visited the site.

And by the end of today our readers will have exceeded 2.5 million page views.

Our weekly bulletin and Breaking News bulletins remain the standard information sources on the region’s insurance industry. We lead the pack, and as journalists we have an odd sense of satisfaction seeing our articles appear in various guises in other media here and overseas.

We’ve been true to our vow to only publish Breaking News bulletins when the information is truly significant. We have also avoided getting involved in daily “click-throughs”, in which enticing headlines take you to irrelevant garbage that inflates readership totals but irritates readers.

However, we recognise the growing role of mobile technology in everyday life, and over the next year we will introduce some new publishing approaches that will enhance our services to the industry and provide new opportunities for our advertisers.

We are very aware of our premium sponsors’ importance in the success of insuranceNEWS.com.au. AIG, CGU, Ebix, Premium Funding, QBE, Vero and Zurich make our free service possible. They deserve your support because without them we couldn’t continue employing such outstanding business journalists.

We’d also like to thank the industry leaders, managers and stakeholders from all branches of the industry who trust us to report sensitively and professionally. We take that responsibility very seriously.

And lastly we’d like to acknowledge you, the reader, whose interest in our work and trust in our integrity makes working at insuranceNEWS.com.au so rewarding.

The team at insuranceNEWS.com.au – editorial, advertising and production – joins me in wishing you a safe and happy festive season.
