JLT confirms specialty chief’s departure

Tony Barber has left JLT Australia after less than two years as Chairman of Specialty.

Mr Barber left his previous role as chairman and CEO Australasia at Willis Towers Watson to join JLT in March last year.

JLT’s CEO at the time, Leo Demer, said Mr Barber had “an outstanding reputation as a strong leader” and would drive business development.

Mr Demer now who now holds a global advisory role at JLT, with Nick Harris taking on the Australia and New Zealand CEO position.

“Tony leaves JLT with our very best wishes and we thank him for all he has done since joining,” a JLT spokesman said. “A very popular figure both at the company and in the local insurance market, we wish him all the best for the future.” 

The spokesman told insuranceNEWS.com.au that JLT is “not at liberty to confirm” any further details.
