IAG appoints Deputy Chairman

Prominent company director Elizabeth Bryan has been appointed Deputy Chairman of IAG.

Chairman Brian Schwartz says her appointment to the newly created position reflects a time of change for the company that includes integration of the former Wesfarmers insurance business and a new strategic relationship with Berkshire Hathaway.

Ms Bryan has been a member of IAG’s board since last year.

“In the role of Deputy Chairman, Elizabeth will have increased exposure to the business and management, and we expect her greater involvement with the company will benefit all our stakeholders,” Mr Schwartz said.

“As we focus on setting the business up for future success, we want to ensure IAG continues to benefit from the guidance and support of a strong, diverse and skilled board.”

Ms Bryan is also Chairman of Virgin Australia Group and Caltex Australia, and is a director of Westpac. She is a former CEO of Deutsche Asset Management Australia.
