Willis CEO quits, replacement named

Willis Towers Watson Australasia Chairman and CEO Tony Barber has quit the company today.

Mr Barber, who became CEO on January 1 this year, is understood to be heading to rival brokerage JLT Australia.

Andrew Boal has been appointed Regional Head of Australasia for Willis Towers Watson, following Mr Barber’s departure.

Mr Boal was Australia MD of Towers Watson prior to the merger with Willis.

Mr Barber joined Willis in 1998, until 2009 when he spent three years with Aon. He rejoined Willis in January 2013 as Deputy CEO before his appointment to CEO following the retirement of former CEO Roger Wilkinson.

He commenced his career in 1986 with New Zealand Insurance.
