AILA Seminar: The Cladding Crisis

Following the horrific events of the Grenfell Tower in 2017 and Lacrosse apartment building fire in 2014, the use of highly flammable cladding in the construction of skyscrapers is under the spotlight.

A panel consisting of industry professionals will discuss:

  • The nature and extent of the problems
  • What is being done to ascertain which building may be exposed and to ensure they will be made safe
  • What steps the authorities are taking, and whether those steps are enough, or too little too late
  • The impact upon the insurance sector, the cost of property insurance and whether insurers will continue to offer writing cover for cladding risks
  • The chain of responsibility and who ultimately will be held liable
