Andries Terblanché, Chair of Financial Services at KPMG Australia, will look into the question why we have had 17 globally significant economic meltdowns post 1971 (and none between 1951 to 1970) at a time of unparalleled advances in economic and financial theory.
In particular, Andries will compare the reality of some of the key assumptions underpinning mathematical finance and modeling – in plain English.
