Jobseekers are regaining their mojo as the economy provides new opportunities for unhappy workers.
Insurance employees now rank career progression as their main priority just ahead of long-term job security in further signs the employment market has rebounded sufficiently for workers to risk changing jobs in the wake of the downturn.
Hays Insurance Senior Regional Director Jane McNeill says employees are exploiting a wealth of employment opportunities to their benefit.
“Candidates that withstood the economic downturn in the existing job rather than seek advancement elsewhere are now re-entering the job market,” she said.
“They are now aware of rising vacancy activity and are more strategic in their job search. They are thinking of their long-term career progression once more.”
The survey found salary is the third most important consideration for employees.
