Bertasso beefs up Macquarie Life unit
Macquarie Life has appointed Marcello Bertasso to the newly created role of National Underwriting Manager, leading its underwriting team.
Mr Bertasso has more than 20 years experience in the insurance industry and came to Australia from South Africa in 2008 to take a senior underwriting role with CommInsure. He later moved to AMP as Head of Underwriting. He has also spent 10 years at Swiss Re.
Macquarie Life’s Head of Underwriting Sally Phillips says Mr Bertasso’s appointment further strengthens the Life team. He is based in Sydney.
