ANZIIF awards celebrate NZ achievers

AA and Delta were multiple winners at the Australian and New Zealand Institute of Insurance and Finance awards in Auckland last week, while Rothbury won its fifth consecutive award for large broking company of the year.

The annual awards recognise excellence by individuals and businesses across the New Zealand industry.

AA Insurance won the direct general insurance company category and also took the honours for insurance learning program of the year. Delta Insurance won the underwriting agency category and was acknowledged as young insurance professionals employer of the year.

QBE took the intermediated insurance company award, O’Connor Warren Insurance Brokers won small-medium broking company of the year and IAG won women’s employer of the year.

CoreLogic won the service provider to the industry category, Finity the professional services award, Accuro Health won for innovation and Fidelity Life was named life insurance company of the year.

The lifetime achievement award went to David Archer for his advocacy and contribution to the industry, plus his commitment to mentoring and developing young professionals.

Chris Black of FMG was named insurance leader of the year and Rene Swindley of Frank Risk Management was named young insurance professional of the year.

The awards, in their seventh year, were held at the SkyCity Convention Centre.
