WorkCover WA has appointed Ian Williams as its board member with insurance expertise, replacing QBE’s Regional Manager WA/NT Steve Burns who has completed his three-year term.
Mr Williams has 30 years’ experience in the financial services industry, most recently as CEO of United Credit Union.
He also has an extensive knowledge of workers’ compensation insurance, gained through senior positions in AMP and GIO.
As GIO’s State Manager WA Corporate Insurance, Mr Williams helped acquire the licence required to be an approved provider of workers’ compensation insurance in WA.
“This is an area where the challenges are endless and the answer that perfectly satisfies all parties rarely exists,” he told insuranceNEWS.com.au.
