Barrister selected for ASIC deputy role

Barrister Daniel Crennan has been appointed Deputy Chairman of the Australian Securities and Investments Commission (ASIC). He starts his five-year term next month.

“Mr Crennan is a highly regarded queen’s counsel,” Revenue and Financial Services Minister Kelly O’Dwyer said.

“[His] appointment also complements and builds on the Government’s reforms to strengthen criminal and civil penalties for corporate misconduct, and to boost the powers of ASIC to protect Australian consumers from corporate and financial misconduct.”
