AIA boosts rehab team

AIA Australia has doubled its specialist rehabilitation team to six to boost its effort on return-to-work education for employees who have suffered illness or injury.

The team provides services to help people get back to work, including rehabilitation counselling, physiotherapy and occupational therapy.

“It’s important the return to work transition is managed appropriately, taking into consideration the patient’s medical situation, workplace arrangements and personal circumstances,” AIA National Rehabilitation Manager Rathia Gierdien said.

The insurer offers rehabilitation services directly to its policyholders and via super funds that provide illness and injury cover through AIA.
