CEO goes as Allianz Worldwide Partners restructures

Allianz Worldwide Partners Australia CEO Craig Dalzell has left the business following a review of its leadership structure.

Garry Townsend, who has previously served as Allianz Australia COO, will fill the role on acting basis, the company told insuranceNEWS.com.au. Mr Dalzell has departed to pursue new opportunities after four years in the job, it says.

Allianz Worldwide Partners has also confirmed the departure of General Counsel Gavin Byrnes. Richard Ollier will oversee Mr Byrnes’ duties as Chief Compliance and Legal Officer, a position he assumed last month, according to his LinkedIn profile.

Mr Ollier was previously Americas regional chief compliance officer and VP compliance and legal Canada.

Mr Dalzell was appointed CEO in May 2016, when the business operated under the Allianz Global Assistance brand.

He was Allianz Global Assistance CFO from 2014 and, before that, a director of advisory services financial management for KPMG.

Mr Byrnes has worked for Allianz Worldwide Partners since 2013 and held his current position since July 2016.
