Nanra takes reins at Zurich Australia, Riminton goes

Rajbir Nanra has been confirmed as CEO of Zurich General Insurance Australia and New Zealand.

He had been acting in the role since last September, following the departure of Daniel Fogarty. EGM Commercial Adrian Riminton left the company last week, the latest in a number of high-level departures from Zurich in recent months.

Mr Nanra was previously CFO general insurance. Before that he was Zurich’s regional audit director for Asia-Pacific, based in Hong Kong.

He will now report to CEO General Insurance Asia-Pacific Stuart Spencer.

Mr Spencer says Australia and New Zealand is “one of Zurich’s most vital and strategic markets in Asia-Pacific”.

As revealed in a Breaking News bulletin in December by insuranceNEWS.com.au, Zurich will stop operating in the NSW compulsory third party market from March.

Policyholders are being notified and all CTP “greenslip” policies issued by Zurich will remain valid and in force until their expiry dates.
