MYI Freemans has acquired risk specialist Aspeck Holdings in a move to expand its presence in the risk management area.
Aspeck National Liability and Investigations Manager Angus Kench says the acquisition by MYI Freemans has been partly driven by consolidation.
“We struck up a conversation with MYI Freemans about expanding our range of services,” he told insuranceNEWS.com.au. “They also undertake investigations, but we foresaw demand coming from different areas, so this led to the acquisition.”
He says the two operations are complementary, so there have been no job losses at either firm.
“We have retained all employees and contractors in the field,” Mr Kench said. “In time, we will be enlarging the number of employees and contractors.”
Services provided by Aspeck include liability loss adjusting, risk services and investigation in all insurance classes.
