Suncorp has appointed a COO and regional managers for its AMP General Insurance Distribution (AMP GID) arm as it moves closer to a rebrand of the business.
Former AMP Head of Product and MD’s Office Carol Simpson has been appointed as the entity’s COO.
MD Gerard McDermott says Ms Simpson’s “experience with the network and the high regard in which she is held will provide continuity as we build our enhanced presence in the market”.
Suncorp finalised the purchase of the AMP general insurance business on January 1, and said that it will build it into a new stand-alone brand and develop alternative sales channel approaches.
AMP GID has more than 700 authorised representatives (ARs).
Suncorp can only continue to use the AMP brand until January 1 next year.
The new regional managers are Ken Ellison (Victoria/Tasmania), David Harris (NSW/ACT), Julie Parker, (WA/SA/NT) and Tony Stanton (Queensland).
