Aon Australia has announced a new service to help clients manage corporate risk associated with social media such as Facebook and YouTube.
It has partnered with risk assessment firm SR7 to provide social media intelligence, insight, and analysis to clients.
Aon says increasing amounts of damaging material on social media sites also increase the risk of a tarnished corporate reputation.
Traditional media reporting of social media content has the potential to exacerbate the fallout, alongside the proliferation of other examples such as industry blogs and media.
“Firms no longer retain 100% control of information, as people use social media as a research tool prior to using a product or service,” SR7 Head of Monitoring and Audit James Griffin told insuranceNEWS.com.au.
