Suncorp boss heads to IAG

Suncorp Personal Insurance CEO Mark Milliner will be the new Chief Operating Officer at IAG.

Mr Milliner is widely credited with building Suncorp’s dominant personal insurance business under the “one company, many brands” strategy.

He had been widely tipped as a frontrunner to replace Group CEO Patrick Snowball, who left the company last month and was replaced on October 1 by board member Michael Cameron.

IAG MD and CEO-designate Peter Harmer says “Mark is one of our sector’s leading executives and we are delighted he has chosen to join IAG.  His experience in leading and growing insurance businesses and his passion for customer service will be a tremendous asset as we continue to build up our business for future success.“

Mr Milliner will take up the role in mid-2016.

Gary Dransfield, who has been interim CEO of Suncorp Life since June, has been appointed new CEO Suncorp Personal Insurance, effective today. Jeremy Robson, CFO of Suncorp Life, will act as Suncorp Life CEO until a permanent replacement is appointed.
